Nipple and Areola Problems
Nipple problem may be grouped into three: collapsed nipple, large nipple and the large areola (the large brown circular area around the nipple). The majority of these problems are aesthetic problems. It is also known that it leads to collapsed nipple dysfunction. Breast problems are usually based on hereditary characteristics. Nipple problems can be eliminated by plastic operations.
Nipple plastic surgeries are simple, painless and short recovery processes.
Collapsed Nipple Surgery
This occurs when the nipple develops inwards in part or as a whole. This one-sided or double-sided occasion usually becomes apparent after adolescence. The fact that the nipple is inward can cause hygienic problems, especially during breastfeeding periods. If the problem is due to the lack of development in milk channels, the aesthetic intervention can improve the appearance, but the milking function cannot be recovered.
It is an operation that lasts about one hour under local anesthesia. During the operation, the milk channels that pull the nipple inward are cut and a permanent or temporary filling is placed under the nipple. Breastfeeding is not possible in the future because milk channels are cut during the nipple collapse operation. Therefore, it is very important for the patient to make a clear decision on this subject before surgery. Surgery is a risk-free operation; the patient can easily return to her daily life within a day or two.
Nipple Size
It is a problem that does not cause dysfunction. It is a surgery performed only to eliminate aesthetic concerns. The nipple, which is very noticeable beneath the clothing, causes psychological problems such as shyness and not being able to get into the community comfortably. No function loss occurs because the milk channels are not touched in a simple operation under local anesthesia. It is very easy to achieve a natural look.
Nipple Plastic Surgery and Areola Surgery
The circular brown area around the nipple is called areola. The normal areola region is a circular region with an average diameter of 5 cm. There are people with areolas whose diameter reaches 10-12 cm. In the operation performed under local anesthesia, the incisions are made and extra skin are removed like a ring and stitched again. A very small scar in the shape of a circle may remain. The patient can easily continue her daily life within a few days.
