Laser Liposuction

Fat Removal with Laser Liposuction

Liposuction is the procedure of surgical removal of regionally excessive fat with cannulas. It is an effective method in conditions where regional fat distribution is high and must not be seen as a weight loss process. The laser liposuction method must be performed under sterile conditions and by a plastic surgery specialist.

There is a difference in fat storage in various areas in every person, especially due to hormonal and genetic differences. In women, these areas are abdomen, hip, basin, inner and outer areas of thighs, and abdomen in men. No serious reduction occurs with exercise and diet in these regions, therefore the most appropriate liposuction candidates are the patients with high fat distribution on these areas.

Will the skin sag after liposuction?

After the removal of adipose tissue by laser liposuction method, sagging may be observed, even though a little, on the skin. Good skin tension and elasticity provide a rapid recovery after surgery. If excess fat is present in the abdomen, thigh and arm area, then stretching procedures should be performed.

Which areas is the Laser Liposuction effective on?

  • Abdomen and back area
  • Inner and outer knee
  • Hips
  • Arms
  • Inner and outer thigh
  • Breast
  • Neck (jowl and gill area)
  • Leg

How is surgery performed in liposuction?

Laser liposuction is taken by melting the fats under the skin.

The areas to be operated are determined before the operation and are drawn on. Local or general anesthesia can be used depending on the width of the area. Liposuction can be performed in more than one area in a single session. Several 0.5 cm incisions are made to reach the areas. From these incisions a special fluid is administered by a cannula or syringes to reduce bleeding and postoperative pain. After waiting a certain time, the softened fat tissue is removed with the help of different cannulas connected to the negative pressure system. The incisions are closed with sutures and the operation is completed by having the patient wear a special corset to reduce postoperative bleeding and edema.

What should be considered after laser liposuction surgery?

Generally, pain is easily regulated by painkillers. Patients can be discharged from the hospital in 1 to 6 hours after surgery based on the anesthesia used. The use of the corset for about 1 month is important for the preservation of the shape and the rapid regression of edema. Return to work is usually 1-2 days after local operation and after 1 week in large areas. After the procedure, bruises may occur in some areas and they take 1-2 weeks to heal. The exact regression of the edema takes 1 month, and the results of the liposuction procedure appear exactly 2-3 months later.

If this is not observed, the probability of infection, bleeding and pain will increase considerably. The most serious complication is fat embolism, which causes fat to cause vascular occlusion. Specially prepared fluids are administered to the areas of operation in order to eliminate this more common problem in previous years.

Does fat form again in the same areas after liposuction?

The amount of fat cells is constant. When we lose weight, these cells expand, and contract when we lose weight. As a part of the fat cells are removed from the environment after this process, the fat does not increase in the same areas as long as we pay attention to our weight.

What is the difference of laser liposuction?

After the specially prepared fluid is administered in laser liposuction method, the laser beam is applied to the fat cells by means of fiberoptic probe and the fat cells are softened and melted. With this method, both the amount of fat cells and the skin tension and tightness occur faster. Bleeding and edema are quite minimal compared to the classical method. There is no or very little bruising. Recovery takes place very quickly.

What is the treatment of laser lipolysis?

In patients with regionally excess fat, fat can be removed by laser lipolysis under local anesthesia without liposuction. It differs from liposuction in that fats are not aspirated and they are left for spontaneous absorption. Although one session is generally sufficient, the number of sessions may vary according to the region to be applied. Sessions can be performed with 2-3-month intervals. After lipolysis, patients can return to work immediately.

Laser lipolysis is also effective in cases of excessive armpit perspiration, also known as hyperhidrosis. It should be noted that laser liposuction prices will vary according to the practitioner and the area to be treated.
